Haneda airport draws renewed public attention
TOKYO, Japan - File photo shows Tokyo's Haneda airport, which attracts renewed public interest as Transport Minister Chikage Ogi on Dec. 8 expressed the ministry's intention to review the basic policy that Haneda airport handles domestic flights and Narita airport in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, international flights. ''Rethinking (it) is needed,'' Ogi said a day after the Chiba prefectural government agreed to a central government proposal to allow international chartered flights to use Haneda airport from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., when Narita airport is closed.
