Backer of Fujimori opponent claims ambassador lied

LIMA, Peru - Lawyer Alberto Massa claims the then Japanese ambassador to Peru ''deceived'' him 10 years ago by saying deposed Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori did not hold Japanese citizenship. Massa, 61, who supported novelist Mario Vargas Llosa in the 1990 presidential election, said Masaki Seo told him shortly before the poll that Fujimori neither had Japanese citizenship nor a Japanese passport and that his name was not included in a Japanese family register.
