Sony Marketing to sell earphone Walkman

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows an earphone Walkman that Sony Marketing (Japan) Inc. will begin selling on April 21. The 95-gram NW-E8P features all the functions of a music player. Users will use software included with the Walkman to download music files from personal computers.

Pianist and composer Kentaro Haneda dies at 58

TOKYO, Japan - Kentaro Haneda (file photo taken in May, 2005), a pianist and composer who appeared on various TV shows, died of hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer, at a Tokyo hospital on June 3. He was 58. Haneda was a popular host of music show ''Untitled Concert'' on TV Asahi for seven years until this April when his health deteriorated.

Sony to release new digital Walkman music players, stereo sets

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Corp. will start releasing on Oct. 21 five types of new digital Walkman music players and three types of component stereos that enable music to be download from an online service without the need to use a personal computer. KDDI to sell Sony's Walkman brand mobile phone next month

TOKYO, Japan - KDDI Corp. will launch Sony Corp.'s Walkman brand mobile phone (photo) that can be used as a music player in Japan by the end of June, the company said on May 22. The new phone can play music for 30 hours on a single charge as it utilizes Sony's portable music player technology. Sony unveils new Walkman that 'evolves' to suit users' taste

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Corp. said Sept. 8 it will release five new palm-size digital Walkman models that ''evolves'' in accordance with listeners' preference of music. The new Walkman A series, to be put on the Japanese market Nov. 19, is equipped with functions to learn users' taste in music. Sony to sell futuristic version of AIBO robot pet

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Marketing (Japan) Inc., the sales unit of Sony Corp., said Nov. 8 it will introduce on Nov. 23 a futuristic version of the AIBO dog-like robot pet - the AIBO Entertainment Robot ERS-220. The new AIBO model has 19 LEDs and multiple enhanced touch sensors from head to tail for better emotional expression. It will be priced at 180,000 yen.
