Princess Sayako turns 32, speaks of Kobe quake victims

TOKYO, Japan - Pricess Sayako, who turned 32 on April 18, looks at flowers in a garden inside the Imperial Palace in a photo taken by the Imperial Household Agency on March 30. In a written response to the media ahead of her birthday, the daughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko cited her experience with victims of the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake that devastated the western Japan city of Kobe during a visit there in January as one of her lasting impressions of the past year.
