Ogi tries low-emission car

TOKYO, Japan - Transport Minister Chikage Ogi tries a low-emission car May 9 as her ministry holds the first meeting of an expert panel designed to craft recommendations for promoting the development and use of environmentally friendly vehicles. Panel members are expected to discuss ways to encourage the use of low-emission vehicles, such as hybrid cars powered by a combination of gasoline engine and electric motor.

The two-seater NSX-R, a new version of the NSX-R sold between 1992 and 1994, is equipped with a 3.2-liter engine and a six-speed manual transmission.
