Ex-BTM exec Nakahara named to BOJ board

TOKYO, Japan - Shin Nakahara (file photo), former vice president of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BTM), has been appointed to the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan (BOJ), the government announced June 18. Nakahara replaces Susumu Taketomi, whose term expired June 17.

"It came into sight that the price stability target of 2 percent would be achieved in a sustainable and stable manner," the BOJ said in a post-meeting statement. On top of returning to positive rates, the BOJ also decided to scrap it
