Japan's U.S. envoy accused of pressuring contractor
TOKYO, Japan - Japan's outgoing ambassador to the United States, Shunji Yanai, put pressure on a major construction firm to change the design of a building (2) facing his own condominium block (1) in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward between 1995 and 1999, a source close to the case said Aug. 23.
