Akino, Japanese painter of Indian themes, dies at 93
OSAKA, Japan - Japanese painter Fuku Akino (file photo), who specialized in Indian themes, dies on Oct. 11 of heart failure at her home in Kyoto. She was 93. Akino was named a person of cultural merit in 1991 and received the Order of Culture in 1999.
