Seminar to prevent maritime crime starts in Kitakyushu

KITAKYUSHU, Japan - A seminar to combat maritime crimes such as piracy and smuggling begins on Oct. 15 in Kitakyushu, western Japan, with 11 maritime patrol officials from nine Asian countries attending. Participating countries in this year's seminar are India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong, and seminar members will receive technical training from Japan Coast Guard officials and others.
