Rhodes receives MVP honor in PL
OSAKA, Japan - Home run king Tuffy Rhodes of the Kintetsu Buffaloes smiles at his club office in Osaka on Oct. 27 as he was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the 2001 Japan professional baseball season in the Pacific League. Rhodes tied the single-season home run record of 55 and played a major role in Kintetsu's ''worst-to-first'' campaign in the pennant race.
