Japan's 1st voice-activated wheelchair being developed

SAPPORO, Japan - Madoka Hadachi, a quadriplegic, uses a voice-activated wheelchair at a hospital in Sapporo's Minami Ward on Nov. 6. The wheelchair, Japan's first of its kind, is being developed through cooperation between her doctors and physical therapists, a wheelchair manufacturer and two researchers at the Hokkaido Industrial Research Institute.
