Union at Japan's last colliery discusses closure plan
KUSHIRO, Japan - Labor union members at Taiheiyo Coal Mine Co., which runs Japan's last coal mine, gather in Kushiro in the northernmost main island of Hokkaido on Dec. 9 to discuss a management proposal to close the mine on Jan. 30.
