Foundation stone laid for Bangkok's new int'l airport
BANGKOK, Thailand - Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej presides over a ceremony Jan. 19 to lay a sacred foundation stone for the main passenger terminal and concourse of a new international airport to be constructed in Bangkok, as Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra watches (standing to the left). The Suvarnabhumi Airport, to be built in Nong Ngu Hao in Samut Prakan Province, 25 kilometers southeast of metro Bangkok, will replace the already overcrowded Bangkok International Airport, also known as Don Muang airport.
