LDP's Koga becomes head of Japanese war-bereaved group
TOKYO, Japan - Makoto Koga, former secretary general of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), smiles at a press conference in Tokyo on Feb. 27 after being elected president of the Japan War-Bereaved Association. Koga said he wants to be flexible about prime ministers visiting Yasukuni Shrine, a controversial Tokyo place of worship that honors war dead and war criminals.
