KDDI to launch new 3G high-speed mobile service in April

TOKYO, Japan - Tadashi Onodera, president of KDDI Corp., shows off a mobile phone handset model to be used for the company's new third-generation (3G) high-speed data transmission service, at a news conference in Tokyo on March 11. Japan's second-largest telecom operator will launch the new CDMA2000 1x mobile service for its ''au'' mobile phones on April 1.
