Sasebo Heavy Industries chief to resign amid scandal
SASEBO, Japan - Arifumi Himeno, president of Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., talks with the media in Sasebo on March 12. The company admitted to having fraudulently obtained central government subsidies for retraining workers at its Sasebo shipyard in Nagasaki Prefecture. Himeno indicated that he will resign, saying ''I am painfully aware of responsibility.''
