New concrete developed by electric power company

MATSUE, Japan - Chugoku Electric Power Co. has developed a new type of concrete using cement blended with coal ash discharged from its power plants, iron slug from steelworks, and seawater. Wave breakers (in the photo) made of the new environment-friendly concrete are being used at a fishing port in Shimane Prefecture.
