Toyota to promote Akio Toyoda to managing director
NAGOYA, Japan - Akio Toyoda (file photo), director of Toyota Motor Corp. and a direct descendant of Toyota's founding family, is expected to be promoted to managing director at a board meeting to be held after a shareholders' meeting in late June. Toyoda, 45, is the eldest son of Shoichiro Toyoda, the company's honorary chairman.
