Shibui sets Japanese record in women's 10,000 at U.S. meet
PALO ALTO, California - Top Japanese distance runner Yoko Shibui (R) walks with her coach after set a national record in the women's 10,000 meters at the Cardinal Invitational track and field meet at Stanford University, clocking the fastest time in the world this season. Shibui held off American cross country ace Deena Drossin in a seesaw battle and hit the tape in 30 minutes, 48.89 seconds for the victory.
