Kirin reproduces ancient Egyptian beer

TOKYO, Japan - Waseda University Prof. Sakuji Yoshimura, a noted scholar of ancient Egypt, tastes on Aug. 2 the ancient Egyptian beer which Kirin Brewery Co. has reproduced from a recipe dating back to more than 4,000 years ago. The brewer has no plans to commercialize it but expects to release details of the product at an academic conference to be held in the United States in October. (Kyodo)
