Honda releases prototype of FCX fuel-cell car

TOKYO, Japan - Honda Motor Co. unveils the prototype of its FCX fuel-cell car (photo) in Tokyo on Oct. 22, with an eye to putting it on the Japanese market on a commercial basis by the year-end. The FCX, equipped with a 157-liter compressed hydrogen fuel tank, is capable of a maximum speed of 150 kilometers per hour and a range of 355 km once the tank is filled up. In the initial stage, Honda envisages leasing FCXs to government agencies and other interested parties in the Tokyo metropolitan area. (Kyodo)
