Sumatran tiger at Tokyo zoo dies of kidney failure at age 10
TOKYO, Japan - A 10-year-old Sumatran tiger at the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo (in file photo provided by the zoo) died early Nov. 9 apparently due to kidney failure, zoo officials said. The female tiger named Cheko was found dead at an animal hospital inside the zoo compound. Born in April 1992 at a Czechoslovakian zoo, Cheko came to Ueno Zoo in March 1996. (Kyodo)
