Koizumi urges BOJ to further ease monetary policy

TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives Cabinet Committee on Nov. 21, urges the Bank of Japan (BOJ) to further ease its credit grip to support the government's antideflation drive. ''I am aware of the importance of monetary policy. I want the Bank of Japan to make further efforts,'' Koizumi told the meeting. (Kyodo)
