SDP expels upper house member Ofuchi from party

TOKYO, Japan - The opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) said Nov. 28 it has expelled Kinuko Ofuchi (file photo), a House of Councillors member, from the party. She submitted a letter of departure from the party in October, but the SDP refused to accept it. (Kyodo)
