Kinkakuji Temple roof to be redone

KYOTO, Japan - Kinkakuji Temple (the Temple of the Golden Pavilion), one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kyoto, is undergoing renovation work Dec. 3 on its 100,000-shingle roof for the first time in 22 years. The temple is expected to have a brand-new roof by the end of March next year. (Kyodo)
