Defense chief denies Aegis ship use will violate Constitution
TOKYO, Japan - Defense Agency chief Shigeru Ishiba (L) gives his views on Dec. 5 to the diplomacy and defense committee of the House of Councillors. He reiterated the government's stance that the planned dispatch of an Aegis-equipped destroyer to the Indian Ocean will not violate the Constitution by leading to Japan's participation in military action.
