Sunderland in transfer talks with Shimizu over Toda
LONDON, England - English Premier League club Sunderland are in talks with Shimizu S-Pulse on a deal for Japanese midfielder Kazuyuki Toda (file photo), a British media report said Jan. 18. The Press Association quoted Sunderland coach Howard Wilkinson as saying he is aware that his club and Shimizu have had talks on a possible transfer of the Japanese World Cup star, who is having a two-week trial with the Black Cats.
