Abductees' families leave for U.S. to seek help

NARITA, Japan - Three of a group of relatives of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea -- Shigeru Yokota (R), his wife Sakie (2nd from R), Teruaki Masumoto (3rd from R) and Toru Hasuike -- head for a plane at Narita airport March 3 to leave for the United States. The will stay in Washington until March 7 seeking help from U.S. government officials. (Kyodo)

          In principle, patients are not allowed to go out of the hotel, and if their condition should suddenly change, they will be taken to a medical institution. Tokyo Metropolitan Government employees will also be on hand. Nurses, doctors, metropolitan government officials and hotel employees will not come face-to-face with patients. Kaori Okamoto, head of the department in charge of medical system improvement, plans to expand the program by gaining expertise in its operation. The metropolitan government has earmarked 6.5 billion yen in its fiscal 2020 supplementary budget to cover the cost of renting these hotels, disinfecting them, paying for meals and dispatching medical personnel. Toyoko Inn Co. of Ota Ward, Tokyo, was selected because it has a track record of accepting people awaiting test results at other hotels and because Toyoko Inn Tokyo Station Shin-Ohashi-mae is air-conditioned in private rooms, not the entire building.                     The state-controlled CEZ, the biggest Czech energy group, must receive permission for the further operation of the two units of the Temelin nuclear power plant next year, CEZ Group CEO Daniel Benes told CTK today, on Friday, August 2nd, 2019. He said CEZ is busy preparing the documents to prolong the operation of the blocks and it should receive the permission in late 2020. The permission is given for an indefinite period.Industry and Trade Minister Karel Havlicek (for ANO), said after his visit to the plant today that the security measures at Temelin are perfect. Benes said Temelin would operate until 2060 since the units should operate for at least 60 years. He added that the plant may still operate in the 2060s and the 2070s. CEZ launched the operation of the plant's first unit in 2000 and of the second one in 2001.
