GIFU, Japan - A caravan of white-donned wagon cars carrying about 50 members of a white-garment cult that believes ''doomsday'' is imminent is seen parked on a narrow road designated by police authorities in the village of Kiyomi in Gifu Prefecture on May 3. Members of the group, which calls itself Pana Wave Laboratory, took down the roadside tents they erected on National Route 257 in the village, leaving the site earlier in the day after staking out there for 23 hours. (2)Police crack down on cult in white garment

GIFU, Japan - Police prevent members of the media entering an area of a forest road in Gifu Prefecture on May 1 which members of the Pana Wave Laboratory occupied on May 1. Police ordered the cult group to move 10 of their vehicles for violation of parking regulations and obstruction of traffic. Members of the group wearing white garment began to leave the area later in the day. (Kyodo)
