Briton in solo transpacific attempt in distress
SENDAI, Japan - Photo released by the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) shows Mick Dawson, from Boston, England, who sent a distress call June 14 during his solo attempt to row across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to the United States. Dawson told JCG by satellite phone that his rudder had broken and he had lost control of his vessel. (Kyodo)
