Hammer thrower Murofushi wins Prague meet, sets Japan record

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - World silver medalist Koji Murofushi (file photo) wins the hammer throw event at an international track and field meet in Prague on June 29 with a new Japan record of 84.86 meters. The new record is the third best in the world and this year's best. The world record of 86.74 was set by Yuri Syedikh of the then Soviet Union in 1986. (Kyodo)
