Globe maker busy producing Mars models

SOKA, Japan - A worker at a globe manufacturer in Soka, Saitama Prefecture handles a Mars model ahead of the planet's regular opposition to the sun with the Earth in between in August 2003. On Aug. 27, Mars will be almost 30% closer to the Earth than during an average opposition and will appear especially large and bright. The company is seeing twice its usual order volume ahead of the heavenly event. (Kyodo)

The RO II is priced at 6 million yen (excluding consumption tax), and the new product aims to be priced at less than 1 million yen.
