Nikkei briefly tops 10,000 on gains in techs

TOKYO, Japan - A stock price board in Tokyo's Nihombashi district shows the key Nikkei index topping 10,000 in the morning of July 8. The bellwether passed 10,000 for the first time since last August on strong buying in the technology sector after solid gains in U.S. shares overnight. (Kyodo)
