Okuda to propose panel on rail system during China trip
TOKYO, Japan - Hiroshi Okuda, chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren), said at a news conference in Tokyo on July 14 that he plans to propose establishing a Japan-China joint committee as part of his efforts to make a pitch for Japan's high-speed rail system for a new Beijing-Shanghai route. He said he will present the proposal during a trip to China next month. (Kyodo)
