Shopping system based on camera-equipped mobile phones devised
TOKYO, Japan - Venture business Mediastick Inc. said July 23 it has developed a system enabling users of camera-equipped mobile phones to place orders for merchandise merely by holding their handsets over a newspaper ad or TV commercial for the product concerned. A mobile phone camera (in photo) recognizes the ads' ''two-dimensional codes'' (located at top right of each ad) that identify merchandise advertised on TV or in newspapers. (Kyodo)
