Vietnamese man applies to Guinness for largest lantern

HANOI, Vietnam - What is claimed to be the world's largest lantern is on display at the Vietnamese culture and art exhibition center in Hanoi on Sept. 5. Nguyen Van Bao, who made the ''Star of August'' lantern, 20 meters in diameter, said he has applied through the British Embassy to have it registered on the Guinness World Records book. (Kyodo)
