WWII reparation activists give signatures to Japan embassy

BEIJING, China - A member of a Chinese anti-Japan activists' group (L) presents a Japanese Embassy official in Beijing with a 1 million-signature petition on Sept. 18 seeking compensation for damage caused by a fatal leak of mustard gas in August in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province. The gas, which was left behind by the Japanese military at the end of World War II, killed a man and injured dozens of people. (Kyodo)
