(1) KDDI unveils new cell phone
TOKYO, Japan - KDDI Corp. President Tadashi Onodera shows off a new cellular photo at a news conference in Tokyo on Oct. 22. KDDI said that starting Nov. 28 it will offer a new service enabling users of its ''au'' mobile phone service to transmit and receive data at a speed equivalent to that provided by an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) connection. KDDI said it will introduce a flat rate for packet transmission, giving users of the new service unlimited access to the Internet for a fee of 4,200 yen a month. (Kyodo)
