The metropolitan government has earmarked 6.5 billion yen in its fiscal 2020 supplementary budget to cover the cost of renting these hotels, disinfecting them, paying for meals and dispatching medical personnel.         Unmanned Robot Pasta Cafe

        JR East's corporate venture capital (CVC), JR East Startup, launched "Startup Station," an event to demonstrate services using new technologies, at Omiya Station (Omiya Ward, Saitama City) on April 4. At the event, a robot from QBIT Robotics (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) makes and serves pasta at an unmanned cafe. There will also be demonstrations of sake tasting using artificial intelligence (AI) taste testing, the sale of fresh fish using instant freezing technology, and the sale of station lunches and cakes using vending machines that can handle refrigerated products. This is the third demonstration event at Omiya Station. President Hiroshi Shibata said, "Many people will be able to experience the services that we hope to realize through the venture and JR.           Three D Lab, a manufacturing workshop of the Association for the Attraction of Fuchu University

          The Association for the Attraction of Fuchu University (Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture) has opened the "3D Lab" (photo), a manufacturing workshop on the theme of flying robots (drones), in "Roadside Station Bingo Fuchu" in Fuchu City. Using a subsidy from the city, the workshop is equipped with a 3D printer and desktop machine tools. By providing a place for students and other young people to make things, the city hopes to foster drone developers and increase the interest of citizens. The workshop is about 60 square meters in size, of which about 20 square meters are equipped with two 3D printers, tabletop machine tools, injection molding machines, and 3D scanners. It can be used by up to 20 people. In addition to making things with drones, they also offer workshops to learn how to fly them.               TOKYO, Japan - People demand an explanation from a staff worker (C) of JR Tokyo Station on Dec. 20, 2014, after East Japan Railway Co. decided to terminate sales of Suica train fare cards commemorating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the station due to safety concerns. More than 9,000 people had lined up before the start of the planned sales of 15,000 Suica cards, but the railway operator known as JR East halted the sales after selling 8,090 cards because the situation became chaotic at the station.
