Suica cards marking 100th yr of Tokyo Station
TOKYO, Japan - People demand an explanation from a staff worker (C) of JR Tokyo Station on Dec. 20, 2014, after East Japan Railway Co. decided to terminate sales of Suica train fare cards commemorating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the station due to safety concerns. More than 9,000 people had lined up before the start of the planned sales of 15,000 Suica cards, but the railway operator known as JR East halted the sales after selling 8,090 cards because the situation became chaotic at the station.
