Koizumi again skirts issue of when to send SDF to Iraq

TOKYO, Japan - Liberal Democratic Party President Junichiro Koizumi gives a press conference, flanked by some of his cabinet members, following his reelection as prime minister in the Diet on Nov. 18. He refused to be drawn on when Japan will send Self-Defense Forces (SDF) troops to Iraq, saing, ''We would like to decide when to dispatch them, keeping a close eye on the situation there.'' (Kyodo)
