Woman in wheelchair sues Osaka over refusal to let her on buses

OSAKA, Japan - Fatihi Manami Amina, a wheelchair-bound woman, meets the press in Osaka on Feb. 2 after suing the Osaka city government for 2 million yen in compensation. She said she had been prevented from getting on city-operated buses and hurt by verbal abuse from bus drivers. The woman is a Japanese national who has converted to Islam and uses an Islamic name. 'Rich Shrine' donates revenues from souvenir sales to town

YONAGO, Japan - Takahiro Kageyama (2nd from R), mayor of Hino, Tottori Prefecture, receives a donation from representatives of the Hino Town Tourism Association in the town on Feb. 24, 2012. The body that runs a souvenir shop at Kamochi Shrine sold souvenirs worth 4.5 million yen in 2011 and donated all of the money to the town government. The name of the shrine can also be read as Kanemochi Shrine, meaning ''wealthy shrine'' or ''shrine of the rich.''
