(2)Tokyo High Court rejects extradition of researcher to U.S.

TOKYO, Japan - Takashi Okamoto, who was indicted in Ohio in May 2001 on charges of stealing genetic materials on Alzheimer's disease developed by the Learner Research Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the state in July 1999, leaves the Tokyo Detention House by car on March 29 after the Tokyo High Court rejected Washington's request to extradite him to the United States. Okamoto was in Japan at the time of indictment. (Kyodo)
