Mexico: One Dead as Powerful Storm With Hail and High Winds Strikes Monterrey, Nuevo León

A powerful storm with strong winds and hail struck the Monterrey metropolitan area in Mexico's Nuevo León state on Friday, June 19, causing flooding and widespread disruptions. One woman was killed in San Nicolás when a billboard collapsed due to the high winds. At the FIFA World Cup Fan Fest at Parque Fundidora, security personnel temporarily restricted the departure of attendees to avoid incidents while the storm continued.
