Matsuo appointed as prosecutor general
TOKYO, Japan - The government on June 15 appointed Kunihiro Matsuo (file photo), head of the Tokyo High Public Prosecutors Office, to replace Akio Harada as prosecutor general, effective on June 25. Matsuo, 61, became a prosecutor in 1968 after graduating from the University of Tokyo, and assumed the current post in September 2003. (Kyodo)
