OECD chief upbeat about Northeast Asia free trade deal
TOKYO, Japan - Donald Johnston, secretary general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, speaks at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on July 21. He voiced optimism over a prospect to create a Northeast Asia free trade agreement embracing Japan, South Korea and China. ''That prospect is more likely now because I sense that both Japan and Korea see China as an opportunity, whereas several years ago, they reclined to see it perhaps as a threat,'' Johnston said.
