WTO chief warns Japan could be major victim of protectionism

TOKYO, Japan - World Trade Organization chief Pascal Lamy speaks during a news conference at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on Feb. 25. Lamy warned that Japan could be a major victim of protectionist steps stemming from the deepening economic crisis if Tokyo and other major players shy away from making coordinated efforts to resist any temptation to raise trade barriers.
