U.S. harping on China's currency is election ploy: Sakakibara
TOKYO, Japan - Eisuke Sakakibara, a former vice finance minister for international affairs, speaks in an interview with Kyodo News. Sakakibara, now a professor at Keio University, said the United States is expected to step up calls on China to relax its fixed currency system at the Oct. 1 financial meeting in Washington of the Group of Seven major economies.
