Execs of Nagoya meat group arrested over beef buyback scam
NAGOYA, Japan - Law enforcement authorities arrested Yoshiharu Fujimura, chairman of the Fujichiku group, and six senior executives of the Nagoya-based Fujichiku meat wholesale group Nov. 8 on suspicion of fraudulently receiving state subsidies under the government's beef buyback program launched after the outbreak of mad cow disease in Japan in 2001.
