Gov't failed to collect 43 bil. yen in taxes: audit board
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (R) receives the fiscal 2003 audit of state finances from Board of Audit Commissioner Nobuaki Morishita at his office in Tokyo on Nov. 9. The government wasted or failed to collect about 43 billion yen in taxes in the year, the second-largest sum on record following 51 billion yen in fiscal 1980. (Kyodo)
